1880_Yik -Yee Wong PaintingYik-Yee Wong born in Guangdong, China, in 1941 became interested in art at a young age. At the age of 20, he came under the wings of landscape master Liang Boyu and Lingnan master Chao Shaoan. With a classical training, Wong is fluent in all the classical Chinese genres of landscape, flora-and-fauna, and portraitures. His use of colours is elegant, while his brush strokes are free-spirited. His refreshing visual 1880_Yik -Yee Wong Portraitaesthetics has become his trademark. In recent years, he has also become known for his ink-wash works. In 1962 he graduated from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Art and Design program, moved to Canada in 1975, opened Jiahua Gallery in Toronto in 1976, and in 2005 went back to live in Guangdong, China.
